Shou Cang Jia Double-Level Parking Workshop 2 1/64 Diorama

Updated: October 2026

A 1/64-scale Double-Level Parking Workshop 2 diorama from Shou Cang Jia, 29.5 x 19.7 x 11.8 cm and 846 g at $43.99, a low, wide two-level parking structure.

US$39.99 ● In stock · Fast dispatch

If you own neither, the decision comes down to two numbers. This piece measures 29.5 x 19.7 x 11.8 cm and weighs 846 g. Item 730 measures 29.5 x 19.8 x 12 cm and weighs 706 g. Both are $43.99. That is 3 mm of height and 140 g of weight between them — small enough that you will feel the gap when you lift the parcel and forget it the moment the piece is sitting on a shelf. If you move your display around often, the lighter one is the easier object to handle. If the scene is going to stay in one place, the extra mass here makes it sit more settled on the surface, and it will not skate across the shelf when you nudge a car into position.

Available from NXSTUDIO — an independent retailer of 1/64 scale miniature dioramas, including Shou Cang Jia (收藏家) garage, parking, and street scenes, with protective packaging and tracked worldwide shipping.

About this diorama

If you already own the Double-Level Parking Workshop — item 730 — the honest answer is that you do not need this one. The two pieces share a footprint, share a price, and solve the same problem: how to get four or five 1/64 cars off a flat row and into a space about the size of a paperback book. Version 2 is a second take on that idea, not a bigger or better one.

What a second level actually does for a display

Two-level parking is the most efficient shape a 1/64 scene can take. A single-storey lot puts one row of cars on one plane, so from desk level you mostly see roofs. Raise half the collection onto a second deck and the same eye position now reads two staggered rows: the near cars at the front of the scene, the higher ones behind and above. That is depth a flat lot cannot offer, and it is why multi-level pieces photograph better from a seated angle than from a straight-on shot.

There is a practical side to it as well — exposure per square centimetre. Twelve cars and one shelf is the usual problem. A double-level piece lets you show eight of them in the space of four, and you can rotate which eight without rebuilding the whole arrangement.

Where it fits

29.5 x 19.7 cm is a whisker under A4, and the 11.8 cm height is one of the lowest figures in the parking group. That combination is unusually forgiving. It slides under a monitor riser, it fits a shelf 20 cm deep, and it works on top of a low bookcase where a taller structure would not clear the shelf above it.

The number people get wrong is depth. 19.7 cm is not a shallow footprint — measure before you buy, because on a shelf shallower than 20 cm this overhangs and the ground plate visibly hangs in mid-air. Width gets all the attention and depth is what usually decides whether a scene stays on the shelf or goes back in the box.

05

Pairing it with cars

True 1/64 castings are the natural match: Mini GT, Inno64, Tarmac Works and Kaido House all land between 6.8 and 7.4 cm long and stay under 2.2 cm tall. On a single-level lot that is the end of the story. On a double-level structure it is not, because some parking positions sit under a deck, and clearance becomes the question.

Hot Wheels mainline castings run closer to 1/62–1/68 depending on the moulding and can reach 2.4 cm. Two millimetres sounds trivial. It is not, when it is the difference between a car resting on the ground and a car that will not pass beneath an overhead beam. If your collection leans mainline, measure the tallest model you intend to park and compare it against the gap before you commit — and if you want a scene with no overhead constraint at all, an open lot is the safer pick.

06

Gift Angle

This is the piece to give someone who collects cars but has never bought a scene. It explains itself in three seconds, it does not need a set of six models to look finished, and it gives an existing collection somewhere to be rather than one more thing to store. For a partner or parent who insists they want nothing, an object that turns their shelf into a small structure is a better answer than another car they would have bought themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the Double-Level Parking Workshop (730)?

Functionally, yes. Both are 29.5 cm wide, both cost $43.99, and both use a two-level layout. This version is 846 g against 706 g and stands 11.8 cm instead of 12 cm. Unless you are buying for a specific gap on a shelf, owning both buys you nothing — put the money into cars instead.

Does it fit true 1/64 cars and Hot Wheels?

True 1/64 fits everywhere with room to spare. Hot Wheels mainline cars are around 1/62–1/68 and can reach 2.4 cm tall, so check the clearance under the upper deck for the tallest model you own. On the open ground level there is nothing overhead and no issue at all.

How much shelf space should I allow?

Plan for 30 x 20 cm of clear surface plus a couple of centimetres of breathing room at the front so the structure is not jammed against a wall. Height needed is 11.8 cm, which clears most monitor stands and most shelf gaps in a standard bookcase.

Is assembly required, and what exactly is in the box?

The scene in sealed colour box packaging, inside a rigid outer carton with corner protection. There is no assembly, no glue, no parts to slot together and nothing to wire up, so it goes onto the desk or shelf straight out of the parcel. Cars and figures are not included and are sold separately.

Why buy a scene instead of two more cars at this price?

Because the twenty-first car does less for a shelf than the first scene does. A row of loose models reads as a row of loose models no matter how good the individual castings are; the same cars placed on a two-level structure read as a display. $43.99 is roughly one and a half Mini GT models. If you are still building toward a specific car you have been hunting, buy the car. If your shelf is already crowded and untidy, this is the purchase that changes how it looks.

Why buy this from NXSTUDIO rather than a larger marketplace?

Two reasons that matter at this scale. First, scale accuracy: everything we list is sold as 1/64, so the scene and the cars you already own line up without guessing. Second, transit: these pieces ship in a rigid outer carton with corner guards rather than a padded envelope, which is the difference between a straight structure and a bent one on a 29.5 cm span. There is also no resale markup on top of the retail price.
