About this diorama
This is the lightest piece Shou Cang Jia makes at 358 g, and one of the least expensive ways to start a scene at $38.99. Both of those facts describe the same thing: it's the entry point. If you've been circling a first diorama purchase and can't decide whether the hobby is for you, this is the piece that answers the question for the price of a model car.
What it isn't: a compromise on construction. The materials are the same plastic, resin and fiberboard used across the range, and at 19.7 x 10 x 10 cm it keeps the compact format with real texture rather than flat print. Light doesn't mean hollow here — it means small.
What a street view gives you that an interior doesn't
This is an exterior scene: a warehouse facade with a pavement in front of it, seen from outside. The practical difference from the interior pieces is how it behaves on a shelf you walk past. A facade changes as you move — you see the frontage straight on, then at an angle, then the corner. An interior room only really works from one viewpoint.
It's also easier to photograph. Exterior scenes take cars at an angle naturally, and a car parked half on the pavement reads as a story rather than a placement. If part of why you collect is taking pictures of your models, exterior scenes do more of that work for you.
The small format advantage
At 10 cm deep and 10 cm tall, this fits almost anywhere: a desk beside a monitor, a narrow shelf, an office windowsill, the corner of a display cabinet. The 19.7 cm width is about an A5 sheet, so it doesn't need a big clear run.
Because it's only 358 g, it's also the easiest piece to move around. If your display changes often — seasonal rearranging, moving pieces between a desk and a shelf, taking scenes out to photograph — the light small pieces are far more practical than a 2 kg warehouse. A heavy piece stays where you put it; this one you can pick up one-handed and reposition while you're thinking about it.
What fits in front of a warehouse
True 1/64 models sit correctly: Mini GT, Inno64, Tarmac Works and Kaido House measure 6.8–7.4 cm long and under 2.2 cm tall, which suits the pavement depth. Two cars side by side across the frontage fills it; one car reads as a delivery or a job. Both work.
Hot Wheels mainline castings run roughly 1/62–1/68 and can reach 2.4 cm tall. Because this is an open exterior with no roof, that extra height doesn't create a clearance problem — this is one of the pieces where mainline cars are entirely safe. If your collection is mostly mainline, exterior and open scenes avoid every fitment question the enclosed garages raise.
What arrives, and what doesn't
The scene arrives in a sealed colour box with protective packaging inside a double-walled outer carton, ready to display with no assembly. Being the lightest piece in the range, it's also the least likely to arrive damaged — less mass means less energy transferred in transit, and the facade detail is small and flat rather than projecting into open space.
Cars and figures are not included. Scenes ship bare by design. For a street view at this size, one car plus optionally one figure on the pavement is enough — the scene reads as complete without a crowd, and the low price means adding a model still keeps the whole purchase modest.

Gift Angle
This is the best first diorama to give someone, because it's cheap enough that the gift doesn't feel like a statement and good enough that it doesn't feel like a token. It works for a colleague, a friend's birthday, a Secret Santa at a sensible limit — situations where the bigger scenes would be an odd amount to spend.
It's also the safest pick if you don't know the recipient's taste in detail. An exterior warehouse doesn't commit them to a specific scene — a Japanese storefront or a racing garage both imply a subculture. A generic warehouse facade works with whatever cars they already have, including none.

Frequently asked questions
Does this diorama fit 1/64 scale diecast cars?
Yes. True 1/64 models — Mini GT, Inno64, Tarmac Works, Kaido House — sit correctly on the pavement at 6.8–7.4 cm long. Hot Wheels mainlines at roughly 1/62–1/68 and up to 2.4 cm tall also work, and because this is an open exterior scene there's no roof-height issue to check.
How much space does it need?
About 19.7 x 10 cm and 10 cm of height — an A5 footprint. It fits on a desk beside a keyboard, on a narrow shelf, or in a cabinet corner without rearranging anything.
Is it too small to look good?
It's one of the smallest formats in the range, so it reads as a single-car vignette rather than a street. Whether that's enough is a taste question: on a desk it looks deliberate and neat, while next to a 40 cm parking structure it will look slight. As a first piece or a desk accent, the size works in its favour.
Is assembly required?
No. It arrives ready to display out of the sealed colour box.
What's included in the box?
The Old Warehouse Street View scene in Sealed Color Box Packaging. Cars and figures are not included and are sold separately.
Is this a good first diorama?
It's the most sensible first purchase in the range on space, and among the lowest on price. You get real materials and real scale discipline for one of the lowest outlays and one of the smallest footprints, which means you can find out whether a scene on your desk actually adds something before spending on a larger piece. The most common path is starting here and adding a 29.5 cm storefront within a few months.
