About this diorama
At 19.7 x 10 x 10 cm, the Repair Shop Interior is the smallest format Shou Cang Jia makes, and that's the whole reason people choose it. Not everyone has a shelf that takes a 40 cm slope parking lot. This one fits on a desk beside a keyboard, on a windowsill, on a narrow bookcase ledge — anywhere a large paperback would sit. For collectors in small rooms or renters who can't wall-mount shelving, the compact pieces are the entire hobby.
Weight is 386.8 g, and the construction is the same plastic, resin and fiberboard as the full-size pieces — scaled down, not simplified. That distinction matters: a small scene that keeps real material and real detail reads as a miniature; a small scene made from light plastic reads as a toy. The mass is the tell.
Desk-scale, not desk-crowding
The number to appreciate here is the 10 cm depth. Most of the standard pieces are 19.7–20 cm deep, which means they need a proper shelf. Ten centimetres means it sits on a desk beside a monitor without fighting for space, and it doesn't block the surface behind it.
The 10 cm height is equally friendly — it tucks under a monitor riser, under a shelf, beside a lamp. Combined with the 19.7 cm width (about an A5 sheet), it's the easiest placement in the range. If you've ever measured a shelf, decided a 30 cm scene wouldn't fit, and closed the tab, this is the piece that solves that problem.
Interior view versus street view
The difference between this piece and the Old Warehouse Street View (same dimensions, 358 g) is what you're looking at. This is an interior: you're inside the workshop, looking at the workbench, the walls, the equipment around a car. The street view is exterior: a facade and a pavement, seen from outside.
Which you want depends on how you photograph or display it. Interiors reward a car placed centrally, mid-work, and they read best from directly in front. Exteriors reward a car parked at an angle and read well from a few steps to the side. For a desk where you're sitting in one spot, the interior works because the view doesn't change; for a shelf you walk past, the exterior gives you something that shifts as you move.
What fits inside
True 1/64 models are sized for this: Mini GT, Inno64, Tarmac Works and Kaido House all run 6.8–7.4 cm long and under 2.2 cm tall, so a single car occupies the workshop floor with room around it. Because the scene is narrow, one car is the right number — two would fill it completely and look crowded rather than composed.
Hot Wheels mainline castings run roughly 1/62–1/68 and can reach 2.4 cm tall. In a shallow interior with a low ceiling, that's the casting to check. Most standard mainlines fit; the taller trucks and wide-body mouldings are the ones that will look oversized in a 10 cm-deep room. If you collect mainline, this scene is still workable — just expect it to be a single-car display rather than a workshop full of vehicles.
What arrives, and what doesn't
It arrives in a sealed colour box with protective packaging inside a double-walled outer carton. No assembly required. Because the piece is small and light, it's one of the lower shipping risks in the range — but the packaging is the same standard as the large pieces, which is what keeps the fine interior detail intact.
Cars and figures are not included. Scenes ship bare so you place your own models, and 1/64 figures are separate. For a compact interior, one car does the work; a single seated or standing figure adds a lot relative to its cost, because at this scale a person makes the room feel occupied rather than staged.

Gift Angle
This is the safest gift in the range for someone with limited space. It doesn't require them to reorganise a shelf, it doesn't dominate a desk, and it works with a single car — so it's a complete gift even if they only own one model. For a first diorama purchase, the small format removes almost every reason to hesitate.
It's also the piece to buy if you're not sure whether the recipient wants a scene at all. A 19.7 cm interior is a low-commitment way to find out, and at its price it's one of the least expensive ways into the range. If they love it, the bigger pieces are the natural next step.

Frequently asked questions
Does this diorama fit 1/64 scale diecast cars?
Yes — one car fits comfortably. True 1/64 models like Mini GT, Inno64, Tarmac Works and Kaido House measure 6.8–7.4 cm long and under 2.2 cm tall, which suits the interior floor. Hot Wheels mainlines at roughly 1/62–1/68 and up to 2.4 cm tall fit too, though the taller trucks will fill the small room quickly.
How much space does it need?
About 19.7 x 10 cm of surface and 10 cm of height — roughly an A5 sheet with a paperback's worth of clearance. It fits on a desk beside a keyboard, a narrow shelf, or a windowsill, and it can sit under a monitor riser.
How many cars should go in it?
One. The interior is deliberately narrow, and a single car mid-work reads as a workshop. Two would fill the floor completely and the scene would look packed rather than composed. This is a display piece for a favourite model rather than a storage piece for several.
Is assembly required?
No. It arrives ready to display straight out of the sealed colour box.
What's included in the box?
The Repair Shop Interior scene in Sealed Color Box Packaging. Cars and figures are not included and are sold separately.
Interior or street view — how do I choose?
Pick the interior if the scene will sit somewhere you view from one position, like a desk in front of you: the fixed viewpoint suits a room. Pick the street view if it will go on a shelf you walk past, because an exterior facade changes as you move. Both are the same size and price band.
